Telehealth Access Made Easier

The Telehealth Access Made Easier (TAME) project is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing. TAME’s aim is to promote the use of Telehealth services. The TAME website will provide information resources and education materials to make it easier to integrate Telehealth into your healthcare services. These materials will focus on identifying opportunities for using Telehealth, selecting the most appropriate technology and conducting successful consultations. The website will also provide a channel for health professionals to share their ideas and experiences and to explore issues and questions that arise in the process of Telehealth service delivery.

Telehealth for residential aged care services

If you are an aged care health professional, you know how important it is for older people to maintain their health. You will also know how difficult it can be for them to access the health services they need. If you are in a regional, rural or remote area, you will appreciate that accessing appropriate services can be extremely difficult.

The Federal Government is aware of these challenges, and also acknowledges that access to appropriate health services will become increasingly difficult as our population ages. To help manage the increasing demand for health services, the Federal Government is supporting a range of initiatives, including the use of Telehealth. Telehealth offers the potential for improved quality of care and efficiencies such as substantially reduced costs for travel.

Available resources

To facilitate the use of Telehealth TAME is providing information and how-to packs specifically addressing the issues and questions relevant to aged care. To ensure that materials are effective and relevant, members of the TAME team are consulting with aged care professionals to hear their views and experiences.
